Kall Morris Inc is the recipient of three United States Space Force (USSF) research contracts through Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), each worth $250,000. These USSF SpaceWERX Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) Phase I proposals are part of the Orbital Prime program to focus on the emerging market of ISAM. ISAM, acronym for In-space Servicing, Assembly, and Manufacturing, is a joint commercial-government effort that KMI is supporting through their technologies and these awarded contracts.

The event featured an opening keynote by U.S. Army Gen James Dickinson, US Space Command, including international representation during the event with counterparts from UK, Canada, and Australia.

Dr. Thomas Zurbuchen, head of the Science Mission Directorate at NASA, recently visited Marquette to give the commencement speech at Northern Michigan University’s spring 2022 graduation and receive an honorary NMU degree. NMU is the alma mater of KMI’s co-founders, as well as some KMI staff. While he was here, Dr. Zurbuchen sat down with InvestUP, KMI, and several other Upper Peninsula entrepreneurs. We were excited to engage in this conversation with area entrepreneurs based on a shared passion for space, the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, and Northern Michigan University.
